Printing your Emergency Passage Numbers:
1. You will need an A5 size sheet of paper per Community Port. If you
can't buy this, as a suspect you won't, simply fold your normal A4 sheet
in half and cut the sheet along the fold. The resulting two A5 sheets
can now be used to print out a copy for you and another for a friend.
2. Insert an A5 sheet in your printer with the guides set correctly. Select
A5 paper size and Portrait Layout on your printer's page set up.
3. Display your required Community Port on your PC screen using Adobe
Acrobat Reader, preferably V4. (Operating systems and browsers like Windows
98SE and ME or IE4/5/5.5 and Netscape 4.6 have this built in so all you
'll need to do is click on the desired port and it will all happen for
you.
If it isn't loaded on your machine, simply click Acrobat Icon here
and download it from the net. It's a really handy plug-in for reading
numerous web based publications.)
4. The information
sheet is displayed in a format called pdf. This pdf format comes with
defined printer settings so, just select the print button on the Adobe
window and it should print out your required Community Port details as
an A5 print out.
5. You'll need to
be quick as it prints out the first sheet because, to get all the information
onto one page, you'll need to pick up the sheet and turn it over and feed
it back into you printer before it starts to print the second page. (Make
sure you get it the right way around.)
6. Finally, take an
A5 laminate pouch and pass it through a laminator for a robust, waterproof
card for your vessel's log.
